I just wrote a lot of stuff and erased it by mistake.

Hi. New here and looking for a tele. Think I saw one today. To make it short.

MIJ. Pale Yellow/Cream-ish. Matching headstock. DB with abalone/mother of pearl. 6 saddles. Dings and stracthes. Dents and cracks at binding from drops. Rosewood neck no wear. Frets OK. Light/chambered (?).

It looks and plays like a relic. But it's not. It's just a used and neglected tele. The tag is @800USD

Is that reasonable? I had it in my hand awhile and it felt good.

Doesn't anyone know what it might be and what I should look for. I'm all new to this any info/pointers at all would be much appreciated. Thanks

    Ben

First off, welcome to TDPRI, Ben.

You might want to start a thread in the Telecaster Discussion Forum or Tele Home Depot. Your question would get a lot more attention in either forum. Pics would be very helpful as well.

Good luck with the purchase and again, welcome.

    Mark

I'm lovin' this guitar of yours!
Does it have the country twang?
I'm being told you gotta have the maple fingerboard to get that twang.

Well, nobody seems to have mentioned that to my AV62RI Custom... Twang galore!

Here's a modified MIJ Jerry Donahue model. A "Bell Tone" in the bridge and a pair of mini humbuckers in middle and neck from David Plummer (Zhangbucker) yield incredible clean tones.

A Partscaster that I built with a Double Bound Swamp Ash Warmoth body in Blue Ice Metalic.
With Lindy Fralin Blues Special Pickups, a Fender Deluxe Neck with Abalone Dots and a Bridge Works Bridgeplate with Glendale "Twang" Saddles.

I hope I qualify for membership. This is my recently finished double bound partscaster. It plays and sounds great.

It has a NorthWest guitars body and a Mighty Mite neck. Its fitted with a twisted tele neck p/u, '51 nocaster bridge p/u, modern tele bridge and Sperzel tuners.

Hi just received this yesterday. Arrived through the Australian post service from Chicago through USPS.My 50th birthday coming up so I thought a 1962 DB would be a appropriate present to myself.
So will this make me eligible to join this club?

I just finished putting this together today. There's a bit of everything here, Squire body, Fender MIM neck, CS Texas Specials, Grover Kluson's, brass compensated saddles, even a LP jack plate. The ashtray cover is from my '52 Reissue.
