I just started building pedals in late 2019. Here are the ones that I’ve built and use so far.

    1) Aion Andromeda - Nobels ODR-1 clone (my favorite)
    2) BYOC Blue Overdrive w/fat mod - Boss BD2 clone
    3) BYOC OD-855 - Ibanez Overdrive II clone
    4) BYOC Green Pony - Cross between a TS and Klon clone

I don’t know. There are ways to make graphics that hold up better than water slide.

I’ve never taken these on the road but they been carried around to practices for years and sent across the ocean in a shoe box, and survived.

the theremin one (love it!) is actually just an ink jet color pic on regular copy paper and I covered everything with mod podge. It’s far more durable than I’d ever imagined.

thank you for the mod podge hint. i used laser decal but my brother laser is probably a led printer and will not meld the powder onto the decal paper.
now i can make something afterall ;-)

Mod Podge worked but it’s hard to get smooth.

Minwax sprat lacquer is the good stuff though. Easy to use and dries super fast and hard as nails.

Envirotex is probably available. It’s a clear epoxy that looks great on pedals. But it’s kind of a pain to work with and takes forever to cure.

    nice results though. 156C8528-6086-4E03-A0AA-BFBF0F0AFE02.jpeg 18AC3A5A-B28C-466F-B148-84649410E120.jpeg E3C7D60E-596B-46D6-82FE-10E6E688673D.jpeg

Cool thread. I don’t know how I’ve missed it all this time. I’ve built a few pedals.

I designed and built a dirty preamp pedal I called the Ibanez Killer nearly 40 years ago. I built it for the other guitar player in our band because his 1981 Fender Bullet was no match for my humbucker equipped 1981 Ibanez semi hollowbody. It was very similar to the Stratoblaster but it used a 741 OpAmp. I have no idea what became of it.

I’ve got a few unboxed fuzz pedals so I plan to box one of those up and put it into action. I might do that this weekend.

Of the pedals I’ve built that I do use, they are as follows.

    • The really cheap optical compressor
    • Vertex Steel String Clean Drive
    • Timmy
    • Zendrive
    • Madbean Ping Reverb
    • Grind Customs FX DeProfundis Digital Delay
I also bought a Klon Klone kit that is pretty convincing. The delay and reverb are always on just to make the room lively but my favourite overdrive sound is the Steel String stacked into the Timmy. It gets really great sustain.

    some photos.

Built one of these a couple of weeks back and it rules (has a full range setting for Iommi sort of sounds):

I also made one of these Fuzzes (based on the Tonebender 1.5 I think):

saw a rig rundown of Brain May, and he uses a treble booster just after the guitar.

I’ll see if I can come up with the recipe again. It was a long time ago and all I remember about it was cobbling it together at home, stuffing it in a box with a 9 volt battery and putting it between the other guys guitar and amp. It was always on and just boosted his signal. I’m pretty sure it was just a simple preamp circuit I took from a radio shack engineers notebook and built with mostly incorrect value parts. It was a pretty hairy pedal though and gave him a fatter more compressed tone than he would otherwise have had. When I have the time I’ll see if I can breadboard it up or something similar.

    Cool artw

Cool artwork, I built a gmr little plexi kit, and a fuzzbite great fun and surprisingly good pedals too. I left the stickers off mine with a view to adding some unusual art, your post just reminded me that I haven't done it yet
