Here in California, it's between $4.15 - $4.45 a gallon. At these prices for gas I won't be able to afford the Source Audio True Spring or used Flint, so maybe a used Topanga for me.
$2.80 here in MI. As you know, the true cost involves so many layers of taxes and surcharges it's mind boggling. I'm a Carl Martin fan, but golly, I pay so many taxes they are out of my league.
And don't forget that the flint has a boost for each effect! Just the best pedal I've ever had.
My top 3:
- catalinabread belle epoch (200)
- boss BD (50)
- boss space echo (200)
I filled up at Reverb at 5:30 this morning and it was $375!
The price of gas is TOO DAMNED MUCH!!! Any where from $2.79 - $3.09 most of the time. I can't afford anything now, which is why I bought a Line 6 Spider V modeling amp which has all the usual bells and whistles so that I don't have to buy a bunch of pedals. But IF I had the money I think I'd wait to see what guitar, or other musical equipment catches my ear. I'd love to have a white blonde Strat with gold hardware = Mary Kaye Strat.
The current price of gas here in Vancouver BC Canada (which recently claimed the rather undesirable title of highest price in North America) has a definite negative impact of my gear GAS!!!
What? I was recently in Canada and put 42 gallons in my Honda Civic at $1.30
I saw Eddie Pennington of Muhlenberg County, Kentucky - quite possibly the USofA's top "thumb picker," in concert oh maybe 20 years ago. He was featured as one of the Masters of the Steel Stringed Guitar and is really a phenomenal player. A great show. As he opened his set he said that the price of gas had gotten so high that he'd left his favorite gas guitar at home, brought an electric guitar instead.
These days I'm jonesing for a nice delay pedal. I had a cheap one I bought used out of my local shop's Bargain Bin - you can hear that one in my signature, but it died soon enough. Not looking for anything fancy, something simple. Maybe a Boss DD3 ($140) or MXR Carbon Copy analog ($150) or Lotus Pedals Golden Echo, a little pricier @ $180, but I have a Lotus tremolo pedal that I'm so happy with. Plus they're in Duluth, Minnesota so I could "buy local." https://www.lotuspedaldesigns.com/products/golden-echo
$2.72 when I fueled up the Jeep. As far as GAS goes I currently have no pedals in my dreams, but another axe is always taunting me. I just have too many other things I need to do with my money.
Where?? That's like ancient history around here! Here's my recent reality:
It has eased slightly (to around 1.44-45/litre today) since then but 'north of $1.60' really sucked...
I'm gonna say a full tank is about $1000...just in case...
It's around $2.59 to $2.79 a gallon around here.
As for pedal gas...
Origin Effects Slide Rig Compact Deluxe - $329
Boss SY-300 - $699
Boss GT-1000 - $999
So that's $2027 plus $2000+ in jewelry making the grand total a minimum of $4k
Whatever you have to moan about in the US, the cost of gas isn't one of them.
In the UK it's about $6.80 and probably something similar throughout europe.
Your right I was just whining about Hawaii and $3.65 gal. But the horror of the UK and such...
Beer here in the UK is £3.50 or $5 a pint, making it $40 a gallon. Considering it's 98% water, someone's doing allright out of it!
I never even look at the pump. It is what it is.
In other news, my last three Strymons ran $300 each. My board runs about $2500 as is it is. There's at least twice as much in the drawer. That's why I decided I don't need 25 OD's any more...
I actually remember when Canada sold gas in Imperial Gallons.
Wait, so this thread is NOT about gasoline prices??
The latest pedal I've been looking at is a Tube Screamer of some kind. I did see a Mini for $50 on craigslist, but I think a TS9 could cost me anywhere from $50 to $100.
I don't want any other pedals.
Canada is a very big place. Could you be more specific? I'd like to know if it's worth the drive.
