I've always loved Robert Smith's tone. To my ears, he tunes his high E string (high B on baritone) ever so slightly flat to get his signature sound. Also using the baritone guitar really adds flavor.

I've been listening to Disintegration lately and it's an amazing album.

I just about wore that CD out back in the 90s. It has to be one of their best. Great song writer, great arranger of music, and a pretty darn good player too. I would love to see them live again some day.

I sold my Bass VI because I couldn’t work outside the “Cure” setting :)

I remember being obsessed with the sound of "Fascination Street" back when it was in heavy rotation on MTV:

One of my all time favorites.

    Also quick tip:
Robert Smith prefers boss pedals and he likes to set all the controls as close to noon as possible.

Almost any fender single coil guitar, in the middle position, into an amp with nice cleans, plus a bf-2 set with everything at noon will get you close.

My bass 6 nails that tone. I sometimes use it in my band.

I love Disintegration and was lucky to see them twice on the supporting Prayer Tour. I know there are a lot of fans of Wish and later Cure albums, but to me Disintegration was the Cure's pinnacle and it's all been a bit downhill since.

I have been a fan since the 80s, but didn't get to see them till the "Wish" tour. It was a fab show. I would love to see them again. I do agree. Disintegration was probably their best CD.
