I resemble that comment
Not sure about overstepping boundaries here but it's hard to comment without stepping over the edge or darn close to it. I'll just say that I have stopped buying anything made in China and leave it at that.
These are the most hideous guitars I've ever seen.
They've taken to eating guitars?
Are they men from mars?
Now done with bars?
And done with cars?
He got it, you can search further and easily find that
Hey, that's what they make boring guitars for, people with boring tastes
The will be only one Bob Backlund!
So, you waited til after you were all stocked up?
Is that supposed to be a joke? The Backlund guitars are truly works of art. I suppose a fake is somewhat flattering, but I doubt John needs any from his awesome looking designs. I have never had the opportunity to see one in person, but I yearn for the day that it happens.
Hey there's no accounting for (lack of) taste
the dude in black is Bobby Kimball... gotta be.
Sgt. Slaughter according to the google machine.
My last MIC purchase was a Squier CV50s Telecaster 6 years ago. Many products not MIC have MIC components so it's hard or maybe even impossible to avoid. However, I am making a conscious effort to avoid MIC products.
nonsense! he blessed the rains down in Africa!
You're a very weird person getbent.
in the words of the great george putnam... 'love me or hate me, but dammit don't ignore me!' ha ha ha!
$250 OBO isn't bad, I had to pay $550 and wait almost two years for my personal fake Backlund model 400.
This one appears to be identical to my example, with the same comparably crude and squarish body cut.
Other than as a curiosity, they're not worth fifty bucks, judging by the 'build-quality' and playability of the Chinese fake 400 (and 100) that I have.
The Eastwood Backlund guitars are of Korean manufacture. The earlier 'J Backlund Design' models were made in Chattanooga, but there are very, very, few of those.
I must admit that it's almost surreal to see these things being banged out and sold (if they actually sell at all), because in the 'guitar world', my stuff is barely a speck as far as numbers and dollars generated are concerned, and I cannot believe that they are even remotely worth the effort to produce fake Backlund guitars. At least they spelled my name right on the headstocks.
I guess I'm pleased that they are such miserable pieces-of-sh#t. It would be a lot more disconcerting if the fake Backlunds were actually decent guitars that rivaled the legitimate Korean built instruments currently being made. The Chinese can make very good, high quality instruments (Eastman guitars, for one example), but the fake Backlunds I've seen, look like they were made in a cave, using a wood rasp and No. 11 exacto knife.
And if you look real close at the bottom right, it's the guys from Steely Dan.
Yes i've seen a few around my town where a lot of the new working class have ordered one.
Oh? they only cloned the guitars.. damn...
I was hoping for my own live JB clone to add to my workshop.....
