The brutal honesty and comedy that spills from a 87 year old woman’s mouth

Had to dash to my 87 year old grandmas house after work, she slipped out of her chair again. Got her lined out and sitting there talking I showed her a video I took on my phone from Saturday night of a buddy singing karaoke (he’s actually pretty good).

She said wow he’s really good! Maybe you two should do a duo where you play your guitar and he sings. You guys might make some money as long as you stick with the guitar and stay quite while he does all the vocal work…. Shots fired 😂

At thanksgiving we were talking piano and my mom got out her old lessons books under the bench of the upright and tried to play again. Mom hasn’t played in a long time and it sounded like a cat in heat. I asked grandma what’s worse her singing or piano playing and she popped off… it’s a toss up hunn your mom couldn’t carry either one in a bucket. 😂

Grandma was in the hospital a couple weeks before thanksgiving. I went to visit her one night and one of the nurses walked in. Some small talk and i remembered I went to high school with said nurse after some names were thrown out. My mom is a nurse and they got on the meds/nurse talk I don’t understand and excused myself for the night.

After I left I guess said nurse asked grandma and my mom if I was married or had kids. My mom told me without skipping a beat grandma told her NO HONEY! He’s single, handsome and more than available! Would you like his number? My mom relayed this info and said she about fell out of her chair when granny said that.

We ended up taking grandma back to the hospital tonight and they admitted her. I’m not sure if she will throw me under the bus for my terrible singing to somebody she might know in there or if my phone will ring regarding a date.

Man she’s a trip!

So what was your first date with said nurse...karaoke or bingo?

We will see what happens and if I get any random numbers tomorrow that don’t say spam risk on my phone. Since grandma said I can’t sing I’d go with bingo though.

Now that's civil/social service.
Nice work.

My first job at fifteen, I worked in the kitchen and helped serve dinner and do some entertainment. To many of them that were still in their right mind I was just a ear to talk to since none of their family’s ever came around. Some of the guys were WW2 vets and had interesting story’s I wish I could remember. One guy was polish and his parents had snuck him back to the states somehow during the war when he was little. That guy couldn’t tell you what day it was but could speak three different languages fluently.

Saw things on the other end of the spectrum that involves a nursing home as you can imagine. It certainly was a interesting job for a fifteen year old kid and I learned a lot, saw some things I didn’t want to see at that age and made friends that nobody else apparently wanted anymore.

Could mankind survive if what every person thought came right out of their mouth? I think not. It's good to reserve this right for the aged. If anyone deserves it they do. Plus, in the event you openly disagree with them, they can't run fast enough to catch you and teach you a lesson.
