heheh thanks RD Cool,
I am reading up to see what others i want.
Musician's Friend SDOTD is a Boss DN-2. I couldn't pass it up, so I ordered it.
added a bd-2 (in september) and an od-3 in december.and slightly modded them.still finding the best boost and main drive combinations with the sd-1, Od1, ocd and hm-2 and the od-1 still keeps up with them
The OD-1 still is a great overdrive and should have stayed in production. Low and behold, Boss introduces the OD-1x, digital.
SD-1, nearly the same pedal
Of course. But have you ever played an OD-1?. The Od-1 is sentimental to some of us and one of the first overdrives we owned.
The Boss Pedals I own now.
nothing compered to most of you but I got a DS-1
Steve Vai and Joe Satch started with a DS1. So you are in good company. Pick up a BD-2 and you'll likely hold onto it for life, and it will last that long. It will go good with your DS-1.
DS-1 (Monte Allums Roxx Tri-Gain Mod)
SD-1 ( " " GT Mod)
BD-2 ( " " H2O Plus Mod)
TR-2 (Allums Mod)
AB-2 (Modified to run on power supply instead of 9v)
I guess you can tell that I am fond of Monte's mods!
DS - 1
DD - 7
I've had the DS-1 for donkey's years - lots of other distortions/ODs have come and gone but this one never leaves.
All though I have a few oddball pedals laying about, I've been stuck on my Boss ME70 for the last few years. I love it.
On Saturday I was out hitting the shops and picked up a Blues Driver and Super Chorus for $50 total out the door. I was pretty stoked, and both worked perfectly. Got me thinking about putting together a 2nd small board with a just a few Boss pedals. Perhaps a Delay and a Compressor and maybe a tuner.
Agreed. I like my ME-70 and also other pedals on my (getting larger)pedal board to create ambiance.
Only two Boss pedals here:
I agree that the PH-3 has a lot of extra phasing features . . .
. . . but the extras on the PH-3 are just too much fun. 12-step phasing, or falling/descending phasing, or rising/ascending phasing . .. unneeded but irresistible fun for me.
The OD-20 emulates 22 distortion pedals if one counts the "boost" mode. I can't vouch for their authenticity or accuracy, but the emulations are distinct. And the OD-20 has an octaver, too.
I've looked at alot of pedal boards and more often than not, there is a Boss pedal on them.
The latest incarnation
Almost all Boss
Revised the board a bit, spliced in a second MIJ GE7. I use the second GE when I go acoustic, it's a convenience thing
Not in pic is a RC3 Loop Station with a FS6 working it. sits just to the side of the board.
@Pawnshopper-That thing looks KEWL!!!!!
My PW10 has 3 preset dist pedals on it that pretty much cover what my board doesn't. Marshall Guv'nr, DS1, and a EH BMP. Sounds awesome.
I've been tossing around modding my BD2 and DS1, could you tell a big difference after the mods? it's either Monte's stuff, or Keeley, or CMAT.
Haven't decided yet.
Also, not sure I wanna mess with my MIJ Blacklabel'd DS1. Not that it'll ever be leaving, LOLLOL!!!
