Stick a bunch of firecrackers inside the turkey and use a catchers mitt to get your serving...

    We're doing Fancy Lamb Chops!

It's just the wife and I. We figured we'd go with a delicacy we really love instead of something we both don't care is we have or not (turkey).

I like an electric knife for the brute force work, and then a sharp chef's knife for the breast. I don't do stuffing inside of the bird in the traditional sense (on the stove with pan drippings is food safety preferred and just easier), but put herbs, aromatics, and citrus and other fruits in the cavity. Couple sticks of fancy Tillamook or Kerrigold butter under the skin for extra fatty deliciousness, and maybe even a little lard or bacon fat for good measure. Don't baste too early or aggressively. Thanksgiving is the time to bring the culinary technique, and I DO NOT PLAY IN THE KITCHEN.

We're doing Baking Hens this year. They were all small so I had to get 2.

We’re going with a rib roast this year. Turkeys are disgusting creatures. They don’t have enough sense to disregard their own feces.

    Traditional knives. Precision over power.

Is that your bird?! Looks good!

We are a deep fried in peanut oil type family, nothing beats a perfectly deep fried turkey

Mmmmm.... turkey is definitely my favorite poultry, was close to being our national bird also, imagine if that happened and we celebrated thanksgiving with a roasted eagle

Or would we still have turkey?.... the conundrum!
