Well then, seeing as how we all have different tastes and will likely get our hands on different guitars these final weeks of the year, I figure it to be fun to post a thread about it.

Anyway, meet "Veruca" my final NGD of the year.

Named her after that character from "Charlie and the Chocolate factory", Veruca Salt. The combination of that dark blue sparkle with the cream pickguard, looks very Christmas, and it also reminded me of the kind of attire Veruca Salt wore in the movie.

She's a 2007 CIC Squier Affinity tele. Which I got for peanuts.

i got a red Michael Kelly Thinline Port. i don't know if that picture will show up or not. it's a sweet guitar for under $400. very fun to play.

that's probably the last one i'll buy in 2022.

I’ll post when it arrives. It’s not a Tele but a much anticipated aNueNue short scale acoustic guitar. Something different to begin the New Year.

Those punch so high above their weights!

and

I love the color and the name!!!
They DO punch above their weight, that's also why you don't find them that often any more.

I guess the nearest equivalent is the Squier Bullet tele, which I tried, but those feel so crappy and sound so tinny. There's no comparison, really.

Picked this up for about $200 during the PAS sale. Figured if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t have much trouble selling for what I paid. Took an afternoon to set it up and put it through its paces and decided it’s a keeper. A little Christmas gift to myself! Took the picture right after I opened the box, been too busy playing the thing to take better pictures.

One of these is on the way, but it looks like it may be awhile yet.
I've been wanting a second short scale bass and this one was significantly reduced for Black Friday sale--hard to pass up.
I've been working on learning guitar over the past several months, but not confident enough to play in public yet.
I'm hoping this may serve as an effective crossover. I've never played a Bass VI before and am looking forward to perhaps challenging my own preconceptions baked-in conception of bass playing. We'll see...
I also ordered a Staytrem bridge, which seems to be a pretty standard mod, and will be stringing with LaBella flats.
