The best spring reverb not built into an amp or separate unit a-la Fender & clones, IE, a pedal?

Surfy Bear.

Other proper spring reverbs are available, but the Surfy Bear provides a good feature set without costing a kidney.

I have the Danelectro Spring King. It has a spring. Non-spring pedals can get close-ish, but they don't boing, plip, drip, rattle and create chaos when you kick them.
Tremolo picking to get the springs annoyed cannot be recreated digitally.
Setting a tremolo pedal to square wave and full on/off gets a shimmer from a spring that circuit-pedals miss.

-IF- all the wonky goodness of a spring isn't for you, then I do get it. I have two reverb pedals and a Yamaha reverb processor. My spring can do its trick better than any emulator, but can it do room/hall/plate/church/cathedral/ping-pong/reverse?

No. No it can't.

For that we have pedals. For that we have GAS for pedals. We can achieve reverb-satiety by calmly quieting our insatiable GAS momentarily.

ps. I do hope the tongue in cheek intent is clear here.

There's no such thing as a spring reverb pedal. If it doesn't have springs and plates, it isn't spring reverb... it's an imitation of spring reverb and will sound like an imitation. The best spring reverb is Fender.

My Wampler might have something to say about that…no springs or plates but I would have a *very* hard time doing a blind test if I had to, and I’m no spring chicken (pun intended).
