How about from Queen "Is this the real life? Is this just Battersea?"

And later in the same song "I sometimes wish I'd never been boiled in oil"!!!

A guy I knew years ago thought Billy Idol was singing "how's about a date?" instead of Eyes Without a Face.

When I was playing in a pickup Bluegrass band that's how we did it.

That doesn't really count, as it was arguably not in English, but Jamaican patois or dialect.

Mind you, the first time or two I heard UB40 doing "Many Rivers To Cross", I could have sworn that the Brummie Englishman Ali Campbell was singing, in his peculiar affected Ja-fake-an accent, about some female called Mary Belinda...

Too many years ago....a young girl in a friend's church grew up thinking a line in a hymn "What shall it profit a man?" was instead "Watch out! It's prob'ly a man".

Also...a line in A Hard Day's Night...."so why on earth should I moan, 'cos when I get you alone..." as "so why I love to come home, 'cos when I get you alone..."....or maybe the other way around...I still get confused.

    The written lyric is
    "I got my head checked
by a jumbo jet" which simply sounds..wrong.

I have heard many "alternative" lyrics most revolving around getting ones hair groomed by a eastern mystic as in "I got my head shaved by a Gimobay (whatever that might be) Apparently the band has taken to performing a different nonsensical lyric each time out..

'I just found out the name of your best friend
You been talking bout yourself again
And no one sees to share your views,
Why doesn't anybody listen to UKIP.'

Okay, I might be making that up 'cause I was driving myself mad trying to work out that song for the band but it amused me for a bit. Don't forget to vote kids

There are some great misheard lyrics videos on YouTube of James LaBrie of Dream Theater. That guy's voice is shot, but even when he was great his diction was just garbled especially in his higher range.

When I saw Fogerty in vegas last year, he actually sang "there's a bathroom on the right" while pointing stage right, where the actual bathrooms were...
