Saw this story on the news this morning and Variety magazine is covering it, too. I think it would be cool for Ringo, Paul, Mick and Keith to record together. Or maybe even tour? Anyone else?

"Almost 60 years since first meeting, it looks like the Rolling Stones and the two surviving Beatles may come together on a new Stones album. Variety hears from multiple sources that Paul McCartney has recorded bass parts for a forthcoming Rolling Stones project being helmed by 2021 Grammy producer of the year Andrew Watt. Ringo Starr is also slated to play on the yet-to-be-announced album.

Recording sessions took place in Los Angeles in recent weeks and, while it’s unclear which tracks will make the final cut — or whether McCartney and Starr would end up on the same song — the album’s production is nearing the mixing phase. Frontman Mick Jagger said in 2021 that the group has “a lot of tracks done,” and guitarist Keith Richards said in a New Year’s Instagram post last month that “There’s some new music on its way...”

I'd be very keen to hear anything from this. I'm kind of surprised to hear that Steve Jordan wouldn't be producing. He's drumming with them on their current tour and has collaborated with and produced Keith since forever. On top of that, he's also a massive Beatles fan.

I think it would be extremely cool in the best of ways. I'm hoping this happens 100%.

Nothing. Is new under the sun…

“"I Wanna Be Your Man" is a Lennon–McCartney-penned song first recorded and released as a single by the Rolling Stones, and then recorded by the Beatles for their second studio album With the Beatles.”

First of all, Jordan produced Richards' albums. Having him produce a Stones album would be too much "Team Richards" for Jagger. Also, Andrew Watt has produced hits in recent years and, for better and for worse, Jagger likes to live and work in the here and now and likely wants the album to get as much commercial traction as possible. The guest appearances by McCartney and Starr also further that goal. Look at the buzz they've already created.

Would love to listen during the practice sessions. Hope it happens. Especially with some new tunes.
