I could not have done anything without member and mod support. This is becoming a success because of YOU,I just scratched an itch I and apparently a LOT of people had. I wanted a little of the fellowship and comraderie we used to have and still can IMO.Good luck to all participating and all are welcome to watch :D

One week ago IS within the official start time, just start your thread and your 90 days begins then :).Welcome aboard!

    Hmm, let's see...

    *No rules...
*I've been jonesing hard for a(nother) "keeper project"...
*Seriously long time frame to get started and finished...
*A good way to say thanks to the forum that got me started...

    I'm sold.

    Permission to come aboard, Captain?

As it turns out, the Brotherhood Builds probably couldn't have happened at a better time :).

It's probably just my quirky way of looking at and interpreting things, but this (the Brotherhood Builds) is an awful lot like the way things today are playing out on the bigger stage.

The big shots poo-pooed the idea and didn't want to have anything to do with it. Didn't want to deal with any hassle or controversy it might create.

So, one of us little small-fry, @crazydave911 (I'm not slagging you Dave, I'm sure you're at least a normal-sized person ;)) stepped up and said OK, then "we" will do it ourselves.

And look at what's happening - I really don't know how anyone one else sees it, but I see a lot of good will and inclusion.

There also seems to be more interest and a feeling that something is going on.

Kinda like a feeling of brotherhood?

I'm quite sure the big shots (forum owners) don't mind all of that extra interest in the forum one bit.

After all, when you come right down to it, forum revenue is based on forum traffic.

    Cynical?

    Maybe, maybe not.

I've always believed and said that any forum isn't anything without it's members :).

I take my hat off to the other members for holding up their end.

AMEN to that. Someone pointed out on Sawmillcreek that we woodworkers actually already are experts at social distancing given we know how to hole up in our shops for bliss in solitude :D

I was talking with a friend a while ago and we got talking about ideal vacations, and I said that if I had a week off, my preference would be to just spend all day every day in the shop! I don't quite get to do that with my wife and kids here with me, but I have had some extra time.

Grateful thanks George (6'1" 280lbs btw lol) But as I keep saying,I planted the seed and you guys watered it.I simply kept the faith that what I saw and felt years ago wasn't an aberration. I always said this was the finest group of like minded people I'd ever seen. You have simply proved my faith was NOT misplaced. Have a great build!

I have a friend that is mostly retired (40 hours/month) and will soon be completely retired.

He sits around doing absolutely nothing and it is driving his wife nuts.

He has no hobbies and no interests other that cigars and new corvettes, note I said "New" which means he doesn't tinker on them or anything, just drives his from home to restaurants with senior meal deals and cigar bars.

I've tried to get him interested in things I do because it is starting to cause a problem in his marriage but he says nope.

I don't understand this at all, between woodworking, fly fishing, fly tying, hunting, shooting sports, electronics projects, guitars, etc... If I retired right now and had all day to do whatever I wanted, I still would run out of time.

So yes, If I retired now, my wife would probably see less of me, unless she hung out in my office and garage.

I'm off work with pay and all, I'm doing a Brotherhood build and I'm looking forward to a lot of golf.
Social distancing and all aside, I rarely get within 6ft of anything when playing golf.

I am just sizing up my project and what I am going to attempt to build ... Australia is lagging behind a little with the virus spread but it looks like we will be home for 6 months ... I will use what I already own and cobble something together ... stay tuned!
