What is up with the picture of Marco Oppedisano 1/21/2011?

He's got two Roach...err.. Alligator clips, one on the G and the other on the low E string. I guess he's just a smokin' on that $100 guitar.

difference here would be once the guitar is built it would get passed around to tdpri members who would compose an original piece on the instrument, record it, share it, and send the guitar on to the next guy, and so on, and so on... everyone could sign it.

i like goodtexan's idea of giving it to someone at the end of the deal.

Too bad most of them didn't ... or couldn't play the guitar...

Del Rey is an amazing player, and the only one of the players in that group I recognized. Years ago I saw her together with Steve James at a house concert in Anthem and also in Tucson at a workshop with John Jackson.

Was there supposed to be music played?
    Or just sound-check type noise?
That was the absolute WEIRDEST thing I've seen on the internet all day so far...

on the radio, it was suggested that the crude guitar led many of the players to do unorthodox things

but yeah, i was surprised at the number of players who chose bizarre tactics rather than conventional riffing

one of my favorite of the youtube clips shared on the 100dollarguitar website is the woman playing through a lil champ in her kitchen.

Other that Del Rey and the first guy, i guess the rest of them were all just to cool to actually play it.

I have the two pickup version of that guitar. My dad bought it around 1963, made by Kimberly (or at least that is the name on it). Otherwise it looks much the same. In a faux alligator case that's falling apart. I played it when I was first starting out about 24 years ago, and it doesn't sound bad, but haven't played it in years.

Apparently, nobody else is really playing it either! (see the videos)
