Solo starts at 3.00
You know, this is honestly one of my favorite things about the various guitar sites that I frequent - getting introduced to new stuff that I may never have found on my own. Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing!
Wow, that sounds extremely Jeff Beck guitar-like. Only when he plays super staccato does it not sound like a guitar....
Anyone know just what that is?
Yes, VERY Jeff Beck!
Damn, that clavinet is a funk machine!
That’s awesome!!! Incredible. Thanks for sharing.
As a former keyboardist that was excellent! I was all set to make fun of this -- nothing you couldn't do with a decent mod & pitch wheel (although you obviously couldn't use those on a real clav like the hohner he's playing.) Then he gets into the solo and I'm thinking that's actually super cool and is not something you could do with a pitch and mod wheel!
There's a company that makes these for Hohner Clavs and they posted another dude using one. Solo with the whammy starts around 6:00
Glad you liked!
His brother Clayton Doley is also a monster player
They used to play together in a band called The Hands, very apt!
Super cool! Clayton is definitely in the Jimmy Smith ballpark which is the highest praise I can give an organist
Wow. That was great. Thanks for posting!

Clayton's been playing piano and B3 with Jimmy Barnes (and many others) for many years, i think Clayton's about 18 in this clip and playing in front of about 50000 people, a total pro.
Quite a different style of music to the rest of this thread, Jimmy Barnes an acquired taste for many, but I'm a big fan.
