Assuming that its at Noon GMT (London) time, but they will be posting their episode trying out a number of different Rat pedals....

Should be a good one if the preview on their Facebook page is any indicator....

Okay, I've subscribed.
Not sure I researched the proper origin story for my Rat - acquired @ yard sale $5 close to 20 yrs ago.
It just works, that's all I really know.

I had a RAT pedal in the 80's, and to this day I don't understand the attraction. It was a well-built unit, but the tone seemed generic to me. Got rid of it about a month later.

I bought a Rat back in early January and returned it 2 weeks later. It had this sizzle around 2-4khz only when I would let a chord ring. I just couldn't dial that out. I'm looking forward to watching this show later so I can see what I was doing wrong.

I found that video slightly more interesting than playing through a Rat. They have a nice range of mild dirt to almost fuzz, but I like other pedals better.

You weren't doing anything wrong, and you're right, the Rat has a lot of sizzle.
I used one all through the 90's and it served me well. Back then it was a decent pedal, but there are much better choices these days, in my opinion.

Ah, thanks for the reassurance. I replaced it with a Wampler Dracarys which I really like, although the gain rarely gets past 10:00.

I just added this to my watch later list. I’ll sit back tonight and enjoy it while playing COD BO4.

Is a matter of probability…
There are MANY improved versions out there now and I have to say, that Rattler did sound very nice with little ol’ anemic Blue. Bob Burts Gr8 Distortion sounds really nice too! May look into this after some other priorities.

I like these guys and watch parts of a lot of their videos. I just wish they were shorter.

I’ve never had a Rat and I’m not planning to try one but I liked a few of the tones I heard. I have up before they got to the Rat alternatives
