So I tweeted a message out to the world- Jerry picked up on it. What a gentleman!
The picture Jerry favorited & retweeted.
Jerry is one very nice guy who is one very inspirational musicians and fun guy to hang with.
Jerry is a super nice fellow.
He is totally "the man".
It's easier to list the people he hasn't worked with than the ones that he has.
So obviously Jerry inspired!
I'm surprised the strap and guitar fit that little guy!
We need a whole lot more young in's being inspired like that! That's what I'm talking about!
Thanks fellas... And thanks again to Jerry.
I met Jerry years ago at a bluegrass fest in Kentucky. He was real nice and took time to visit. Amazing player. He really took Dobro to another universe.
NPR is playing or replaying a segment one of their producers did with Jerry, which is airing today.
Jerry does a wonderful job of explaining where the instrument came from and talking about how as a kid he stayed with the bass player of the band he was touring with; how they came and basically "scouted" him out of his Dad's local band from Warren Ohio. All a bunch of guys from West Virginia who had moved North to work in the steel mills.
That will be in my headphones tomorrow! Thanks Boris!
Thanks for the heads up on that one, boris. Definitely a fun listen.
There was a good interview from him on NPR yesterday. I did not know he
was from Warren OH.. such a real down to earth person.
