The daughter of famous guitarist Terry Kath from legendary group Chicago has finally found her father's favorite Telecaster.

Sorry the sound of the original vid is not in sync.

I didn’t know it was missing

Dang his daughter looks young especially since the latest she could have been born would be late 78, I wouldn’t guess that’s a woman in her 40’s

I cried the first time I saw that video. I saw Terry play in 1977 , he died in January 1978 and followed and supported his daughters work in making the movie about her dad. She’s a fine lady
As for Terry’s mods, I hope she allows someone to explore it. What Gibson pickup did he put in the neck?
Did he block the Strat bridge?
Change tone or volume pots values?

This is kind of old. It was documentary on Terry and his daughters search for the guitar. It was very much worth watching imo.

Yes, the film on YT is definitely worth watching. I remember she keeps calling Trevor to find the telecaster but never gets him.

I think of Kath as more of an SG player than a Tele player. I wonder what happened to the SG's pickups?

Dunno - I think suspect was just a project guitar. He may have bought it that way.

Thanks to both @Mr_Martin and @Boreas for posting. Touching and bittersweet. The music of Chicago and Terry's playing were everywhere, all the time, in those early years. They had some of the broadest appeal of all the bands from that period. Hard rockers, mainstream pop listeners, kids, Moms and Dads all seemed to listen to and enjoy this music. In my mind I can almost play back Terry's entire guitar solo in "25 or 6 to 4" from memory. I think it remains one of the best played and effectively used guitar solos ever. I find that I appreciate Chicago more today than I did back then when I discounted much of the more mainstream bands. Terry you left us too soon but you left some great music.

25 or 6 to 4 was also one of the FEW extended guitar solos on the radio. Miss him...

I'm sorry I didn't know about that documentary until five years later, but I'm glad it was posted. Terry went way too young. Terrible loss.

The pup in the Tele is supposed to be out of the SG TK played on the original CTA album. The SG got destroyed when some stage lighting fell on it. Terry salvaged the pup because he loved the tone out of the neck position.

That is what I heard, anyway.

I was fortunate to have seen Chicago in their early days with Terry.

    What a great group!
