    1. Because as soon as you buy it -its worth less.
    2. Because its too precious to dent.
    3. Because its not a "real" tele.

You could buy ten Classic 60s Teles for that. Or, you could buy seven and mod them to hell and back.

Update: I now dislike the look of this guitar. New rule for myself, wait 72 hours before purchasing and always ask you folks :D

Because you could buy a Squier Classic Vibe for a tenth of the price, and they're the best guitar in the world. Ever.

Rare Okume body?? I just paid $90 for a new Squier bullet Stratocaster in Aztec Gold with an Okume body. It is a sharp-looking guitar, and if it floats your boat, buy it. But hype is hype at any price.

Yep, almost always a good idea to wait a while.

Not my cup of tea at all. It's a tele shape but everything else about it is kinda wrong.
It has buyers remorse written all over it IMO.
But, if it floats your boat....

    - For that money you could have something closer to the real mccoy
    - It's not as good looking as a traditional tele.
    - That bridge.

There ya go! It's a classic "lipstick on a pig" tele. You don't want none of that no pickguard, six saddle, rear routed, double bound "gentleman's wood" tele. Too fancy.

Whenever I feel I just have to have this or that guitar, it helps to remember something I have learned after decades of experience:

After shelling out all that dough, and doing all my tweaking, I'm still going to sound just like me. ;)

Not to my taste. Overpriced, too. I don't think spending so much on a guitar is dumb, but I know I can get a super nice exc condition Fender branded CS Tele with my preferred vintage specs for around $2200.

Normally I wouldn't speak against someone else's dream guitar, but you asked to be talked out of it, right?

I don't have a feel for fair value on a Tele with these fairly odd specs. In other words, I can say it's too pricey, but if it's something you want, the question is how cheaply can it be found, in this condition. My gut still says "keep looking, find it $600 cheaper". At least.

That's a good rule for any sizeable purchase, period.

Another 'hold me back', 'talk me out of this' thread? Why?

Ok, I'll bite; don't buy the guitar!

    Did it work?

If you have that money, why aren't you buying vintage?

I am sure this thread is by now a moot point, but:

That thing is fugly, and way overpriced. If I had to be stuck with it (couldn't re-sell it or part it out on other projects) I wouldn't pay $100 for that grotesque thing
