...realistically, in a normal amount of time. Say within a few weeks I should be able to find one. I like the sound of fender amps...clean but can do what you need. So I either want a fender model or something that can do that. So what can be had for $500? Trying to keep this simple. Thank you.

Oh, I have heard that the old Gemini amps sound very similar to that sound and a lot of studio guys back in the 60's played Gemini amps.

I was gonna say, used Hot Rod or Blues Junior should be pretty easy to find quickly in that price range.

Agree with above suggestions. Also used Vox AC15. But those two Fenders mentioned are always popping up for sale used.

For more vintage, a used Champ or MusicMaster Bass. I have the MusicMaster Bass with the 6V6 tubes and a 12" alnico Eminence Red Fang, and it sounds really, really good.

    New or used?

Assuming tubes only or is modeling OK?

    Application, home or gigging?

Carvin amps tend to go for excellent prices. I think they're better than Peavey in every way, but not as common.

New or used, but I certainly want a tube amp. Obviously I'd like to find a princeton reverb or deluxe reverb (or the closest thing) but I know that could take some time.

There are >5.8K guitar combo amps on Reverb at this moment for $500 or less. Take your pick.

Ironically I used to have an early 1980's Music Master Bass amp (black face) and sold to a guy because I didn't have an electric. I regret it.

Ampegs sound great, but I don't think most people familiar with them would say they sound "very similar" to Fenders.

That Belaire is just what the doctor ordered.

Big loud clean amp. Should jangle up just fine too. Worth checking out, IMO. I liken them to a fender amp, the speaker be the limiting factor, but it's a great speaker and a 2x12 setup. Swap them later worst case, but I bet you like it.

I think JD Simo said in a youtube video a couple of time. I believe he said they can do what the fenders do plus more. I might try to find the video and time stamp. He loves them.

And I bet he takes a little less. Carvin stuff just doesn't move.

I've never been able to get the Reverberockets and Geminis I've played to be as mid-scooped as a black or silverface Fender. And the reverb is different. I say this as a big Ampeg fan and also someone who does not currently own any Fender amps.

this may come off as unhelpful... but it's not.

if you can afford a budget of 500 dollars now, you can afford a grand in a little more time.

a used fender deluxe reverb is common and under a 1000, usually somewhere in the 750ish range.

pretty much the quintessential small fender amp and near your budget.
