I've always been curious about all of our avatars on this forum. I figure the stories behind them are just as interesting as the characters whose posts I read every day.

Since I brought it up, I'll start. My avatar is a painting of my '73 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe, which my daughter painted for me practically from memory. I prize it as much as the guitar itself.

What's the story for your avatar?

WarmothFront2019-09-14 09.55.46.jpg The mahogany body, wrapped in transparent SG cherry red, w/ Warmoth boat-neck is a daily reminder of the generosity of my dear grandma Dot.
She had a good run into the late 80s (in both measures).
Broadcaster lead & Van Zandt mid + neck.
The Bigsby just showed up one day and I couldn't say no.
If it wasn't boat-anchor heavy, it would be my full-on #1 because I wouldn't have ever bought another.
That said, it's a pretty darn good guitar - thanks, Dot!

    Peace - Deeve

My friend and former frontman took up photographic composition. He caught me adjusting pedals. That’s my 2006 Anniversary Am. Tele. Also a Marshall Class 5. Both traded toward my current ASAT. I don’t kneel much while playing.

    I love S.F. 1960s concert poster art
My best friend and bass player for my band had an uncle who lived in Sausalito in the 60s. We'd go up there and hang out with the hippies and help the diggers find food for the free kitchens. Practically lived at the Fillmore. My friend's uncle was an architect and graphic artist who knew some poster artists like Stanley Mouse and Wes Wilson. We got to meet them and were able to see some original art before it was turned into posters.
    Those were great days.

My avatar is a photo that I took of a silverback gorilla at the San Francisco zoo. I used a 600 mm f4 lens.

Edit: Here are larger photos of the same gorilla.

I'm a simple guy. My avatar on a Tele site? My favorite Tele, an AV64.

I stick to this avatar most of the time, but occasionally I change it out. For the last month or so, I'd been using a shot of all my Teles, including the blue one which I built, and the pair of AV52s I recently picked up.

It's my present number one Eva and she is amazing. There is an even better guitar waiting in the wings that will soon make Eva my back-up. Its so springy and responsive and light I only pick it up anymore. I will transform it into a 4 pickup abomination as soon as I finish a customers 4pickup mod. The latest guitar is fiesta red and is even lighter than Eva and it is the best sounding guitar I have owned yet. I have been very careful and lucky on my last 3 guitars. each one has been better than the last!! Thats very rare!!
This is Eva from my avatar:
