Fender (FMIC) gets to decide, don't they?

:^)

I get nervous when FMIC puts the "Telecaster" name on things that don't seem like T styles to me, but what exactly can I do about it? That's right.

Exactly, it's their name and their model. Belly cuts have been around on tele models since the early 70's. I would have thought by now they were completely accepted as part of the model's range of variants and options?

I was also presuming that Willy-son isn't part of FMIC. :)

Just play your Tele for 50 years (or your Esquire) like Bruce has and it will start to create its own belly cut! 😁

Not a fan.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Teles but just cannot get used to the belly cut.

Purchased a wonderful new ASAT Classic last year (light weight, very resonant ) and just could not get used to the "cut". Sold it (on here) after a few months.
Happy with my Fender AVs.
