    Hallo everybody!
And sorry for my poor english.
I found a guitar that really make me gassing..
It's on sale in a shop as a fender 52 Telecaster relic but I'm disappointed because this one has only one binding, instead the classic two.
I like it but I don't know if this kind of colour is original or not.
The owner said that is original.

I never saw one of these, does anybody have noticed about one like this?

    Thank you all.

    Hi!
I've never seen one of those- its gorgeous!
It seems the Custom Shop can do just about whatever they want because its "custom-made". From what I've read, even before the Custom Shop division at Fender was created, they did do some custom creations for famous players- to the player's requests- but I've never seen one like this- this is probably a one-off special order or a very limited edition '52. i have seen '52s in sunburst from the CS but not the binding.
By the way, to my knowledge, Fender never actually put out a factory standard telecaster with any binding until '59- if that's what you are asking about and those were double-bound.

    Thanks Rebelwoclue!
    You're in the right side.
    ..and I'm agree, it's gorgeous.

This is the reply arrived this morning from the shop owner (sorry for the bad traslation):

"Hello, when this guitar is arrived we had the same your doubts , but then we took advantage of the presence of Casale Bauer (Italian import for Fender) to present the issue directly .
The quality control manager immediately reassured us letting us know that the guitar had been distributed to them in a shop in Pescara, this is the original appearance even if it is not on the official chart. So this is a custom "special" of the custom shop . Totally original and certified by Casale Bauer !
    thank you
I am available for further comments and information"

    What do you think?

Regardless of the background, it's quite lovely.
    Quite the combination of attributes...
    Stunning, really.

That's one awesome looking Tele!! Wow! I'd rock that for sure.
I wouldn't care that one existed or not in 52.

I think it would be a great tele to acquire. It is definitely a "special" order- I think every once in a while, somebody at the CS will think up a combination of features and put one out that may have never been done before- which in my mind is the definition of "custom". If it plays as good as it looks, it would be a keeper for sure.

That's a great looking guitar despite its name which I guess is based upon the neck profile. I'd be a little leery about this one unless you're sure it's a lifer and get a substantial discount. Trying to sell a used Fender odd ball is no easier than selling a Partscaster.

If you search eBay there are a lot of a single-bound Custom Shop series. Going along with the story you received its possible that this is one that started out as an idea by one of the CS builders and was done as a "one off" which morphed into the actual single-bound series.

It is pretty, and nicely done.

    Yes! Salivas like!
I think the single binding makes it that much cooler.
