Hi all!

I have been trying a couple of pickups for my CS 52 telecaster. It came with, 51 Nocaster & Twisted Tele pickups, I did not like them much. Then I switched to Arcane Inc. 50 Experience which was a huge improvement. Both the bridge and the neck are great for being what they are. Now, I would like to have more clarity in the neck pickup and more 'push' in the bridge pickup. That's why I am thinking to order a Max Tele and 42 Experience also from Arcane Inc. Does anybody have some experience with these pickups? Any other suggestions would be also welcome.

Thank you!

Woah, too fast, IMO.
1. Is the Arcane Neck p/u brass chrome cover or nickel silver? If the former, a nickel cover swap for $15 might be interesting.
2. Look at the Ask Zac Tele pickup height video for advice about rake and balance methodology.
3. Try running Neck with No Tone control, Bridge (and Mix) with.

To add to other advice here, you could try replacing your pots with higher value resistance pots. I love Vintage Inspired Pickups Centralab reproductions in my teles. You could also get 300K or even 500K but may find them too bright.

I like the Fender Tex-Mex custom in the neck of my current #1 but most vintage-style tele neck pups sound good to me. It is paired with a Fender Shaw Hot 50s bridge which has a good output but isn't super hot.

You could also try a maker that has a coverless neck pickup - or swap your own neck pickup to a ring cover that has an open top.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I considered changing the cover of the pickup but then decided not to since it will decrease the resell value of the pickup significantly. I would like to keep the pickups stock and try new ones if I need to. Changing the pickup height is the next thing I will try for the bridge but the neck should be gone. The issue is, it is easier to sell them as a set instead of only neck, that is why I am considering to change the complete set.
