I just picked up a brand new american professional tele. I took it in and had a set up.Through the amp everything sounds perfect.however when push down an the A string I hear slight fretbuz.
it doesnt happen when plugged in.it doesnt happen when played open?

The place that did the set up are awesome so I'm sure they will adjust but I'm wondering if this is normal on teles

Technically speaking, if you can't hear it through the amp, it's still properly set.
However, it bugs the hell out of me and I adjust the saddles until all fretbuzz is gone. That's just me.

It is normal on GUITARS in general.

If it sounds great through the amp let it be.

All guitars with low action and a nice straight neck buzz a bit ,unless you spend the $$$ for a VERY detailed fret leveling and crowning or plek the neck.

If you want zero accoustic buzz just raise the action or add relief.

i also cannot stand fret buzz but it does seem to be more common on Fender style guitars.

    Don’t overthink this.

Strats and Teles sound great with a little sizzle.

If you're using the default strings (.09) then I would suggest going up to a higher guage. My Amer Pro and new FSR Teles both buzzed like you described with the default .09s on them, even when set up to factory specs. I moved up to 9.5s because I didn't like the 9s for other reasons and the buzzing went away immediately w/o having to make any setup changes at all. Something worth trying if it really bothers you.
