Think we’ll see Fender release an American Original Telecaster Deluxe with the CUNIFE WRHs next year? I have to think it’s around the corner since they sell the neck and the bridge pickups a la carte now.

Would you choose that over the Custom? Trying to decide which I’d go for but need to see what colors they go with first.

I probably can't find the link again, but in one of the recent online reviews of the new CuNiFe Custom it was leaked that a CuNiFe Deluxe is on the way. The review stated "later this year" (2020) so we'll have to see!

That’s great! I’m guessing they’ll do black, mocha, and maybe a natural ash. For an upcharge of course.

Why don't they have black as a color choice for the AO 70s Telecaster Custom. Even the Road Worn 70s Telecaster Deluxe has unusual colors. Paint it black.

It's hard to say... The Thinline is a little more sought after as a vintage guitar AFAIK but the Deluxe is perhaps a bit more Indie and Fender like their underdogs at the minute!

I'm hoping for Thinline, but I'll take a Deluxe, as long as they release it in colors I like.

owning one of the 70 custom AO models, (and i really like humbuckers), i really enjoy having the diversity of the cunife WRH in the neck and the single coil in the bridge that they put together for this model. it gives a lot of range for different tones. i think with 2 of the cunife buckers, you'll be locked into one platform of tone.

thats just me after having lived with the 70 AO for a couple months.

I’m torn between which I’d get if they released the Deluxe tomorrow. I play through a ‘57 Deluxe RI and have some trouble with muddiness on the neck humbuckers I use (Seths) so I’m wondering if the WRH would have a bit more clarity and match the amp better.

Any further rumors of these? I actually bought a set of CuNiFe WRHBs to convert my Jazzmaster into a Jazzblaster but I just can't bring myself to rout it for them, hoping to see a Deluxe soon.

I can't find any information but NAMM 2021 is scheduled for January.
Hoping to hear something soon.
