Long time forum lurker, first time poster

When my guitar tech polish the frets he carefully taped guitar neck with masking tape. After this -fender logo was on the tape ;(
We have tried to find a proper new decale on the local shop but they even didn't fit by size.

I will be very appreciated is someone can share the resource when I can buy the proper decale.
I also wrote to the Fender support but we have no official Fender repair center = almost zero chances to have a proper replacement from them(

Thank you

Not buying that. Masking tape pulled off the decal? Something isn't checking out here.
I was not here when logo was removed. It's the result

So the decal is still there but it pulled the ink off?
it looks like it's not a part of decal but looks like traces from it.but all ink is off. I have not used decals for about 30 years (when I was a kid and we have kind of cartoon decals which I didn't love)

Wow. Some real bad responses so far. The decal coming off means the guitar could be a fake? The ink came off but the decal base was left behind? Come on. These people must never have seen a vintage or reissue Fender, nor had any experience with classic waterslide decals.

If you want the real deal, without devaluing your guitar and making it seem like a fake, then mail your guitar to a certified Fender service center.

The illegally sold, computer printed decals out there don’t look anything close to correct. You can spot them in half a second. Fender’s factory AV/AO decals look very close to the originals, and they are what should be installed if you want it to look right, and maintain its value and original specs.

Your tech is an idiot. There is no reason to tape a headstock in the first place, and any fool – even someone who knows nothing about guitars – can use common sense to figure that you don’t apply tape to an unsealed decal. Don’t let him get away with installing a bootleg decal, which will look like trash, mark your guitar as a fake, and significantly devalue it. Make him pay to get your guitar to a real service center, where it can have a real repro Fender decal installed. Then keep all documentation of the repair with the guitar for its life.

I think that that tech want to be very careful because I told him that I don't like surprises with my guitar after service. But want the best prepare for the worst. I'm waiting for the answer from the Fender and then try to get in touch with nearest official centres. I've bought two decals but they look very fake. And thanks for the support

I've finally found authorised center that can help me with real decal. ebay copies are bad quality, not 1:1 copy. Thank you for support. It was a really bad issue because I like this guitar (it is great avri52 in comparison with 4 different 52' AV and AVRI that I played) and don't like chibsons and chenders.

Another experience for me - that guitar techs with big price (the work wasn't cheap) can make this children mistakes.

Good news! That's the right way. Keep your documentation of the official replacement.
Of course, I will keep it. But I think it's anyway will effect on the price of the guitar (and will definitely say about it if I want to sell this guitar)
Good news from this story - I've visited some friends that have '52 teles (AV and AVRI different ages). They all sound different (some are more twang/honky sounds with emphasized high and upper mids frequencies, mine is more solid full sound) and I prefer mine to theirs. Another one good things that with new thick frets bends are a lot easier and more precise in pitch than before. I stop polish neck wood by my hands.

I'm curious to know - What sort of documentation would a Fender service center require for such a repair? I'm sure they would want to authenticate it first, just wondering what the process is and does it matter if you're the original owner or not?
