You must be psychic, you answered my question before I finished posting. :D This is a helpful forum. Maybe a new section is in order:

Place all answers to questions that have yet to be posed here.

I made a thinline with a 5/16" heavy top, and had to use small pots on that one, the top thickness is going to matter getting the pots in there.

Absolutly love this (your) project! Thanks for sharing and asking for ideas.

Heres mine: Pickups = Duncan Seth Lovers with the four wire hookup (yes they are available) add the Duncan "Triple Shot" Pickup rings that have the coil switches built in (that way you get every switching option for a plethera of sounds including single coil Tele (like) sound options.) This can be used with the traditional Tele control set-up.

My other opinion is make at least one of these with Gretsch or TV Jones Filtertrons.

Finally add a Bigsby to the Tune-o-matic and make ORANGE!

    Thanks,
    Jon

Hey Twang, I have been leaning toward the SD Seth Lovers! They are my first choice for off-the-shelf HB pups. Been thinking about the coil tapping and I have seen the Triple Shots. Great minds think alike. I did not know SD makes a four wire Seth Lover though. So thanks for that.

I like the throbbing raw power of hand wound pickups and have a set of HB sized P90's on order from Ken and Roadhouse Pickups.

Billly, I thought some of you would be interested. Things are going to slow down a bit so please be patient.

I have made some guitars, lost count. Made many parts for other makers. I make double bass for orchestra players now. Tele's are my new obcession:twisted:

Thanks Bill! I would love to hear a good player like you play it. Verdict is out though.

I gotta figure out a way to get a tele bridge with a bridge pup. I might have to make new mold with a flat area for the bridge or alter this top mold. After all, doesn't a tele need a tele bridge? What about a tele bridge screwed onto a standard tele bridge picket rout with the TOM bridge? Has anyone seen something like that?

    well sorta, kinda maybe........

I get where you're coming from with the Tele pup thing....But since its a 1/2 breed of a Gibson 335 I like the idea of HB pups on your guitar. I wonder how cool it would be to make the bridge and tailpiece just a stop bar bridge like a LP jr. (or how the Gibson re issue of the Jeff Beck Les Paul is).....

Its fun to think of all the possibilities with it!

Looks awesome so far. I vote for P-90's to straddle the Fender and Gibson worlds.

That is an awesome looking body - I would love to find a guitar like that. I would go for some PAF style in the neck, maybe a Burstbucker 1, though I'm not sure what would go well in the bridge pickup. I would say no to the P-90s but that's just me.

    Meh.

I for one don't believe it, no sir. It is impossible and improbable, and nearly immoral. Please send me this guitar when you are done as proof. (and then I'll install these Harmonic Design Z90s in it...)

    Please.

Now that's very interesting and you are doing a superb job. I cannot wait to see the end result and also to see how you resolve the pup dilemma. Cool thread.

    Nice work.

If you are making six, at least one must have dual P90's.

Welcome to the forum and please keep posting your progress.
