AC879C20-2558-4B14-9E2C-96E96228BBBF.jpeg my new to me MIJ blue flower Tele. It plays and sounds so good as is, but debating dropping a set of real 68 tele pickups I have into it.

If it "plays and sounds so good" why change the pick-ups? Save them for a guitar that needs them.

I'm thinking of a challenge thread, called "Don't Mod". You buy an off the rack guitar, do a proper set up and play it. It's a revolutionary idea, but probably too radical for here.

    By the way, beautiful Tele.

In your challenge, I've already lost. I've related before the many, many modifications I've made to my #1, so I won't try to list them here. However, all of those changes have helped me learn what I REALLY want in a Tele, and I'm currently building (assembling, actually) what I hope will be my "Holy Grail". The problem for me is.....the exact specs I desire simply are not available "off the rack". ;)
