My cs 52 Tele 2016 does not have the middle channel between PUPS......is that odd/unusual?

Perfectly normal. The channel is only there because a hole cannot be drilled directly from the neck pickup pocket to the control cavity.

Are we witnessing personality wars within this vishnu person? How many more are there?

Yes it can, you just need a long bit.

From the neck pickup cavity to the bridge pickup cavity, absolutely. From the neck pickup cavity to the control cavity would require a very long bit indeed.

Well, as long as you're all buddies. That would make me self-conscious on the toilet though.

Those bits exist but you won't find them at Home Depot. With the chuck in the neck pocket HD's longest will get you to about an inch from the control cavity. Then you have to go in slant-wise the rest of the way. I truly hate having the neck pickup wire going to the bridge rout, then you have to take absolutely everything apart just to change the neck pickup. With a direct path all you remove is the pickguard & the pickup itself & loosen the strings a bit.

The long bit is called an "aircraft" drill.

Look on Amazon...you can get stupidly long ones.

Okay I'll bite. Ignoring the picture you posted are you saying you have a custom shop 52 without the middle channel?

Here’s a pic of mine with no pickup wiring route between the pickups. It totally is a pain to feed the wiring through! E3FFA028-F56C-4A5A-91E9-B8ED78DD4DDC.jpeg CD514846-2DD2-4B8E-8F33-00C663157DC6.jpeg
