Which should I have built with a top from the Tree? Might go matching headstock, too. Gotta decide on neck and fretboard, etc. I’ve got a dude lined up waaaay on the other side of my state who I’m delivering the wood to in about a month and he’s going to get started fairly quickly.
Ya, I know it’s a telecaster forum, but man, it almost seems made for a LP.

Although I'm certain either will be nice, I'm voting for Les Paul.

If it's thick enough for a top carve then I'd say it's gotta be a Les Paul.

A top from the tree that you made that pictured table top thing from?
I find that kind of quilt looks less cool on a LP than traditional flame maple.
More of a PRS or superstrat top wood IMO.
I'd throw it on a Tele.

I think I’m going Custom pickups from my dude. Gotta hear how they sound when I see him.

I voted lester. But take a look at soultone guitars. Man I'm kina digging that shape. Just saying.

Not affiliated with Fender, Gibson or Soultone.(With all the lawsuits, wanted to make sure I added the disclaimer)

I voted Telecaster, cause, well, "Telecaster"......but actually I don't care for Teles that are that "fancy". Fact is.....I don't really like ANY guitar that ornate. The two you picture, the Telecaster and the plain gold-top, are perfect in my book. Whatever you decide, I'd end up putting it in a glass case in a Hard Rock Cafe. ;)

I think Telecasters look best as plain as possible whereas LP's need to be dressed up...

A "painted" Tele looks great; a "painted" LP looks meh.

    I'd go PRS! :D

I really like the PRS idea you and the other guy mentioned. Also the LP Jr.

I like them both equally, but for different reasons. They each have their signature tone and do their job well. If anything, I would give the edge to a Les Paul just for their design, the materials and the craftsmanship it takes to build one.
