    Hey all,
Are any of you aware of a short scale Tele mini? Im looking for one just like the Squier mini Strat….except a tele. I can't find one. Surely somebody makes them? Or parts to assemble?
    Thanks,
    TT

As far as I can tell so far, the nearest thing to what you are looking for is a Fender Modern Player Short Scale Telecaster, which has a shorter scale of 24.75, the same as most Gibson's, but I can't help but think you meant something smaller.

Can we assume you seek something with a 22.5 inch scale, the same as a Squier Mini with maybe only one pickup and simplified controls or something to that affect?

I think there were some Japanese Mini Teles that came out in the 90s, scale length of 18.5". I think they're quite rare though, so I wouldn't expect them to be cheap (esp. given the state of the Canadian rupee)

Not a tele, but my wife has a 22.5" scale '90s MIM Duo-Sonic that uses three barrel saddles like the tele and is an absolute blast to play with potential for swapping any strat single coils. A huge, huge step up from the mini Strat in quality (my wife had one) and the neck plays like butter. There are newer Squier Duo-Sonics, but I have no experience with them to compare.

I kind of remember some Stewart McDonald kits, but they're not available any more.

have you considered having the body made for you or making it yourself and then simply adapting parts from other junior or Mini guitars to suit your purposes.

You could get an Epiphone LP Express and then shove a tele bridge on it.

I've seen one, way back in the mid to late 1980s. Some friends, a couple I played with, got a red one with white pickguard somewhere for their son. I'm not sure I ever knew where they bought it, but I know it existed. Not a toy, either, a branded, playable Tele with about an 18.5" scale as someone describes above.

    Sorry, that wasn't much help.

    Thanks all,
Yes, looking for kids size vs just short scale. It's for my small 8 year old son. He's become a good fiddle player and now starting to play a little mandolin as well. I told him I'd get him an electric guitar once he's learned a little on the little flat top he has. He did that so now it's time.....
We looked at the mini strats and he liked them but wondered if there are "small ones like dads" (teles).

Maybe dad should use that as an excuse to get a new strat for himself in a matching color. ;) The two of you on matching Torino red strats with rosewood fret boards. :D

I have a mini Strat I bought for my daughter about 10 years ago but come to think about it I have never see a mini tele. You would think if they made one they would make the other.

    Look up musicstore.de
They have some in their Jack and Danny line. Look like fun guitars.
