I very recently discovered teles -always played strats - but I'm absolutely in love with the tele sound through my Marshall stack. I now own 3 teles and I noticed something strange.

Each one has a different bridge shape where your right pinky finger lays.

    1) Custom built tele thinline has a full metal edge all the way around the pickup- great for resting my pinky. 4 srew anchors into the body on the bottom.

    2) James Trussart steelcaster has the same except right where the pinky goes, the metal edge angles down to flush with the body- no place to rest your pinky. 3 screw anchors at the bottom.

    3) Custom Shop Nashville tele bridge has NO metal edge anywhere and 2 screw anchors.

Is this common? and how many different bridge designs come on teles?
    Thanks.

Basically (2) from Fender...the Vintage style w/ the raised edges, and the more Modern flat style...the others are variations on the same.
