Ted's playing on the Damn Yankees album was gloriously over the top awesome. Monster player.
I mean, yeah.
If you're surprised by Ted, you've just not been paying attention all these years.
Thats included with the $50 price of admission
Goes from singing about the great white Buffalo to becoming one
is he selling a brown face Deluxe?
i've not been a fan, but i must say that his tone on "cat scratch fever" is awesomely ferocious. i'd love to have that amp.
Well Ted isn't Clapton.
The byrdland sold for 90,000
the 56 strat 50,000
the 58 burst 275,000
the 59 burst 300,000
Still there's a lot left and the guns are selling well
I read something about that the other day. Ted said that album was recorded with a tweed Gibson amp that he still owns. He said he doesn’t remember ever playing through a brown Deluxe.
Ted says a lot of stuff though.
It's notable how so many seize the opportunity to get in their gratuitous pot shots. That never happens in threads on people like Bruce Springsteen, a true crackpot.
"Mediocre"? I tend to judge a song by its quality as a song first and then if the playing stands out I note that. Growing up, "Journey to the Center of the Mind" always really stood out on my radio as a hallmark of the psychedelic era. And the solo is smoking.
The thing I really like in the auction is that old Ford Bronco. The bicentennial Michigan license plate guitar sculpture brings back memories of happy times growing up in 1970s Michigan.
Have you read any of the threads on Bruce? They usually go south just as fast.
Not a Ted fanboy but let's hear what you got.
Thanks, the guitars didn't do a lot for me but the Bronco had me at first glance.
it’ll be a cold day in hell where that guy gets money from me to browse a catalog, or my money in general. I’ve seen his interviews and his “lesson” vids. Outside of his IRL conduct, the guy overall has the vibe of those 16 year old dudes who hang out with middle schoolers cause they think the older guy is cool, but everyone his age thinks he’s emotionally stunted. He’s just one of those people you hear two words out of his mouth or catch his contrived body language and go “this dude is absolutely repulsive.” He is the guy that you get everyone at the party to fake like they’re leaving so you can convince him it’s time to go home.
I just stopped by to say right on
.... at least Ted is no b.s
I saw Ted at Cal Jam II. It was an excellent show and he put the hammer down. Very good. Whether he kept that up I don't know but I will tell ya... I have a 33 year old Bronco that still has it, only 108000 original miles. XLT 4x4 Ted fan.
If you scroll down to the Smith & Wesson 629 4" barrel .44 Magnaported revolver, I have the same exact revolver and I had mine Magnaported back in the day as well, and have the same exact grip. It's a super lightweight .44, and when I shot heavy load magnums with it in my hand hurt for about 2 weeks. But shooting .44 specials it's a beautiful revolver.
It was called the Mountain Revolver. It's selling point was that it was lightweight and easy to carry, but could shoot heavy loads if you needed to.
For certain reasons I'm not a big fan of Ted these days, but it's nice to know that that revolver could sell for that kind of price. I'm going to hang on to mine. It was a limited run, and I think it's only going to go up in price. In fact mine might even be worth more because it doesn't have his name on it
Maybe Bonamassa will buy him out.
