Not the song but the finish!
I'm redoing a Strat copy, modding and re-finishing.
I really want to paint it Candy Tangerine. Why, you say? Look at the samples that I attached that's why.
This is an awesome look to me.
So if anyone here has ever painted a guitar body this color, I need your help.
Where in the heck can I get Candy Tangerine in a spray can? And what is the best base coat to use? Gold or silver?
If anybody has a guitar painted this beautiful color please post it and tell me how you achieved it.
Oh, if anybody knows of an automotive color in this shade, please let me know as I could have it mixed up.
    Thanks everybody!

Are they all yours???? By the way you must be colour blind, all those guitars are blue. I thought Tangerine was a red colour.

I am legally color blind to be honest.
But not so bad that I can't tell an awesome Candy Orange.!

The guitars are beautiful, but for me they appear to be tomatoes or apples, not tangerines...
All healthy fruits anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Yeah man! This might be just what the doctor ordered.
Everything in one can, right down my ally.
Price per can isn't too bad even- hoping one can will be enough.
    Thanks for the link.

I have one of those FSRs from Austin Bizarre, it has a very tiny chip on the bottom and it is gold underneath, hope that helps.
Here’s an old pic next to my tangerine sparkle Deluxe.

Umm..gold then. I would have thought silver.
Perhaps fold base gives it s more orange flavor.
    Thanks man

Make sure it is prepped and primered (probably white or light grey) nice and smooth and one can should do.

I haven’t any experience with guitars. Model cars and the real thing yes. Gold base works best for red thru the yellow spectrum. Silver for blues and greens. Purple can go either way.
