Ahh that explains it. I had thought the IQ had dropped sharply around here!

Do we have to moderate the bass player jokes now?

Not at all. We're bassists so we can take a good thumping without it crushing our egos :D

    This just in......

What flats are best for tuning my P bass in Maj. thirds? Thinking G# C E G# or E G# C E. BL said it will be more appropriate for weddings.

Should I just get a 6 string tuned G#-E in thirds? Do I need a new nut for down tuning? Best nut for doom wedding band? Bone nut? Tee hee I said bone nut. Is TB still down?

What's the best 8" 25W combo to play medium sized gigs with no FoH with a double kick drummer and 2 guitarists with full stacks?

I'm in the same boat. There's a part of me that feels super guilty for not playing my bass as much. But I am really just loving jamming on my tele.

Now I have to figure out how to get a PRS 594 singlecut without the wife getting mad at me, but I don't want to trade in anything I already have... :p

So I did a few government contracts. One Project, I was to install the 1st VoIP system into any of the State agencies. I developed the ROI and proceeded. Then all the rules changed. All of the hardware we purchased to do the job, (re-backbone/ip the Campus) was re-aquisitioned to another department after we re-backboned/ip'd. That department then said we had to pay for the equipment they just took. And then they said we had to rebackbone again, even though they designed and approved the first go around. Then we were told that we had to take a particular carrier. Our ROI cut them out because they were 5 times the cost of anybody else.

I really wish I were making this up, but I'm not

I think that the problem with gov outfits is that they are just so next level smarter than us common folk that we could never understand or relate to how they do things.
It's probably best to just go along and not question. We wouldn't understand their methods anyway, even if they tried explaining. Bless our hearts.

Yep, that’s exactly why I mentioned it. I’ve been in IT work for over 20 years now and have seen it myself. ;)

Seems like a lot of us (at least from TB LC) are employed in IT. Maybe it’s just my imagination.

I've gone on the same rant several times (I'm "Greenstreet" over there).
If I remember the thread correctly, it was someone who was new to bass, and was basically looking for effects to hide his sloppy playing, which means he's practicing sloppy playing without knowing it, and only getting better at playing sloppily, reinforcing bad technique.

Someone who is new to the instrument should be playing through something that's as transparent as possible, so he can hear every little flaw in what he's doing.

It's much easier to learn clean technique than it is to re-learn something you've been practicing badly.

    You were right.
