There was a fire at their server. The concern is with the fire and water damage to the hardware. Ouch

I'll bet TalkTilapia had something to do with the sabotage.

Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. Also, I got a message from management. It says, “The answer is precision bass. The best bass for metal is a precision bass.”

Strange ... I thought they were into active basses, like an Ibanez.

Management must be right ....... me get more education.

Slight clarification: the fire was at the datacenter where the server runs, but much of the datacenter is water damaged from the sprinkler system. Due to the safety hazards of that, power has been disconnected to the building. Cleanup and inspections need to be done before power will be restored.

I thought I had jacked my phone up or something.

I like reading Talkbass—even though I play a Squier P-bass through a janky rig, and am probably not the median Talkbass user—and hope they get it back up soon.

All these things were true after the time I used my Ibanez SR405 active bass as a canoe paddle.

I assume the servers weren't in the part of the building with sprinklers. I would hope that the server room(s) would have a halon gas system for fire suppression.

As for Talkbass, I have an account there and usually browse some of the sub-forums but haven't posted in ages. I noticed it was down when I tried to sign in there today. For now The BASS Place sub-forum is going to be the place for my bass fix.

I joined over there not too long ago and only spent time in the luthier's corner sub forum. It's a good crowd in that section.
Is there a builder-specific section over here?

Or, possibly the full-sound P-bass vs scooped (missing frequencies) Jazz bass, lol
