This scratches my gold foil itch:

The pickups are from the Fender Custom Shop.

The Fender guitars don't have *Lollar* gold foils on them, right?
The Lollar website gives that description regarding Gold Foil pickups in general. It’s not used as a description for their products.

If you like it, get it. It’s gorgeous. However, since Fender says those are mini-humbuckers, they are clearly gold foil in appearance only. I’m willing to grant a fair bit of latitude in modern iterations of gold foils, but the originals were single coil.

I voted yes, because I have one put together by a local guy -- $1,000. It's a Tele with a unique voice.

Genuine Fender, I'm not sure, but ebony fretboards are the coolest.

^its all look

There are the Asian gold foil, or the Toledo made gold foil.

And - the vast majority were silver foil !

Same construction, just the outside is different - of the Toledo ones.

Bar magnet surrounded by 1,000,000 miles of copper wire squashed inside the cover. That’s it.

No adjustable Pole pieces though that company also made those later.

They tended to be very hot, and they were not mini-humbuckers.
