A guy down the street from me has an old Lab Series L9 amp for sale with the original reverb tank,,,not sure about the speaker yet though. Claims everything works, just too heavy and wants to get rid of it.

It sounds like I could get it for about $200. Cabinet is in very clean condition.

I really don't need another boat anchor amp, but the ones that I have heard always sounded pretty good to my ears. The original tank and speaker would probably be worth the sale price if nothing else.

Okay, so talk me out of this before it is too late.

    Don't do it,

$200 bucks, ok do it. Sounds like you can't loose on it if it's all working fine.:)

(Cue Mr. Reed's voice) Can't help ya son.
You'll just gonna have to bite the bullet and buy it... 15" speaker is a bonus IMB.

It's too heavy and you don't need another boat anchor amp.

That's all I got, but it seems pretty persuasive...

Starts like you're being asked to be quiet and rhymes with kite, is my guess.

I can think of 5 reasons not to so far, but at the price, they just don't seem strong enough to stop me. So, unless they are hopelessly unreliable or difficult to repair (lack of parts avail), I might have to take a ride.
