Talk me out of (or into) a rattle can sparkle finish on my Tele partscaster.

Nice try, Big Brother.
Right now it has a super thin coat of flat black on it with light wear/relicing in the usual areas. I like it as is, but I can't stop thinking about a dark green or dark teal sparkle finish. Or possibly something in the neighborhood of champagne/gold.

I'm thinking maybe the "Lucky Green" from Krylon in this link:

Anyone ever do this? How successful were you? Feel free to share pics of course.

Go for it! What's the worst that could happen? You will sand off the green and go back to black. If you like working on projects, you will have fun no matter how it comes out.

If it does work, you will have a cool "new" guitar.

Too bad, it looks like @Jupiter 's DPP project has been removed. A search of sparkle finish will bring up lots of information.

Go for it. Stripped and Sprayed a 1968 Fender Mustang after someone had ruined the body with a spray can years earlier. Used Rustoleum 2x.
