It's a bullet. It's pacific blue. It's ridiculoulsy cheap. I have pickups I can put in it.

It will take a little bit to save up for. I have two teles and a gretsch, which as a professional I do need.

It's the wrong forum, I know. But can I be talked out of it...

    I would pass.

The nut looks like it was cut too deep, and that serial number has me worried.

    You can do better.

Why don’t you “start” by telling us what pickups you’ve got waiting for a Strat?

I would say that a strat is a key piece of any player's toolbox. There are more desirable strats out there, but if you've got some pickups for it, you may have the makings of a player...

It will also need a bridge/trem, a nut, some decent gears, better pots, a switch, a new jack, and a setup, a fret job etc

The electrics are fine, and it's pretty much set up - for a new bullet, I was impressed. The jack may change. The pots might... But the action was fine.

Just assume that a dozen or so squiers will come through your collection over the course of your life. This will be one of them.

    No.

Buy it, get it set up properly, and beat every last note out of it like it owed you money. Completely fail to care about scratches and dings as you relic it the old fashioned way.

Cheap guitars are tons of fun.

Buy it. If you don't bond, sell it. Easy peasy. It's only a guitar for life if you want it to be and there's only one party's opinion in that equation.

Don't make it harder than it has to be.

    Let's do the math:

Impressive setup + fine action + ridiculously cheap + prices rising

= "Will that be cash or card?"

I was just looking it up...appears the newer Bullet's actually have basswood bodies which surprises me (thought they were plywood or something). Those are good guitars to modify, might not be a full width Strat body (they didn't used to be). Pups, better quality nut, and a decent setup is all you need! Maybe roll the fretboard edges a bit, too. Blue wouldn't be my first choice but to each their own :).

Don’t get it. Instead, get the Squier Classic Vibe 60s or CV 70s (if you can handle the big head stock).
