The only thing I despise more than the crowds at Costco is the pre-xmas crowds at Costco. If I never went to Coscto again I'd pretty happy. The reason I go is so I can keep all of my amps and other stuff. My wife says grocery shopping is a menial chore she hates. If she has to go, then so do I. If I don't go, she leaves me and takes half my stuff. Lol. So many people in there act like cattle being herded into the barn. Not paying attention to anything. To go to Costco on a Sunday around here, and expect to be in and out in a hurry, is the definition of insanity. I often wonder how many thousand people go through an average Costco on a Sat or Sunday. How many millions of dollars of goods do they sell in same day? I hit Costco and the grocery store today. Two stops. I was in cruise control mode trying to not pay attention to prices. $500 later, the family is fed for another 2 weeks...Maybe. That's a vintage Deluxe Memory Man, which I keep putting off!

Actually, I was zooming through Costco this morning. I got there a little before 10 and I was at the cashier by 10:20.

I just checked on the "popular times" feature on Google, and the best time to go (at my local store) is 8:00pm Mon-Thu.

    I confess! I'm a card carrying member.
My only complaint is that they only sporadically have Carr's Ginger Lemon Creme cookies; my only addiction....well, food addiction. When they have them I buy six to eight boxes and still run out, no matter how much I ration them.
I even cut Mrs injax off when I get down to just two boxes and still have to go weeks cold turkey. :(

Yup, we do a Costco run (180 mile round trip) a few times a year, but we only buy a few very specific things. Ode to the Cherrios two-pack and the Kirkland clear wrap.

I always end up there around 8:00 on a weeknight. As I speed through the empty aisles, pausing only to dodge the occasional tumbleweed, I feel like the smartest guy in town. Then I get to the checkout and realize there are only two lanes open, and twenty heaping carts in each line. Eventually, it occurred to me that checking out takes about the same amount of time whether I go during the daytime rush or later in the evening. The empty aisles are nice, though.

We used to do both Sam's and Costco, then one day we just stopped going to Sam's. It's quite a ways further to Sam's than to our Costco, and truth be known they're about the same. I like or did like them cheap jeans they used to sell at Sam's, don't know if they still do. They were comfortable, and came in relaxed fit, which I like even if I pony up for Levis. When I get them relaxed fit, they fall down off of my rear, I love hearing my wife say pull your pants up old man, what ARE you doing anyway?

Now days, I pretty much wear Cargoes year around so long pants don't matter. I probably still got enough jeans to last me until I get where I'm goin'. It was rainy here today, and I put on a pair of long pants. I went down to Dick's sporting goods to pick up a couple of golf clubs I dropped off to have some work done on them, BIG mistake, I felt SO OVER DRESSED!

    LOVE COSTCO!

They have stuff that's very hard to find otherwise in Japan.

    Like pretzel rolls.

    We go every six weeks.

Around here if you want the best seafood or the best
Rib eye steaks, you gotta go to Costco.
I love Costco for the big stuff, Trader Joe's for a milk and bread stop.
At Trader Joe's check out is always very fast.

Costco meat and produce are one of the world's greatest secrets. Excellent quality at bargain prices. Our Costco has USDA Prime beef for less than our Supermarket's normal Choice beef.

I dropped my membership a few years back. I guess that makes me an atheist.

Doesn't make sense for a two person household, we are fine with the grocery store and local butcher. There's nothing that we need or wanr to buy in bulk.
