Switch knob styles

I’m looking for a different switch knob style that is easier to get out of the bridge position… and was looking at the cone shaped strat style knobs….would that look reduculous on a tele? Or so small it doesn’t matter?

Would that cone shape help it be easier to get my finger between it and the volume knob?

not that you could fit your finger in there, but maybe more ergonomic to flip it by your pinky on the top of it??

I love the look of classic Tele barrel switch knobs - but I use Strat tips on all my Teles, because they work much better...

I am a fan of the Rutters type.

Rutters (and I'm sure others) also make control plates that scoot the volume control just a touch farther from the switch, making it easier to use without bumping into anything else.

As @SixStringSlinger says the answer is a control plate that moves the volume back a few mm. Then you can use whichever switch top you like. Callaham make a nice one that I fitted on both my Teles: then a barrel-top works perfectly.

Control plates with the switch on an angle are very ergonomic too.

Was watching a '50s rogue-teens hot rod movie, noticed a T-bucket with that ridiculous shifter. Occurred to me that Model Ts didn't have shifters (two speed hi/lo pedal shift) and wondered where it came from. LaSalle 3-spd? Truck transmission with original shifter?
Wherever from, that high shifter was a meme in early '60s cartoon hot rod art.

Best way to find out is buy one and fit it.
They're cheap and easy to swap.
Why would you give a toss what other people think about it, if it works for you?
