The Apres Ski scene at Mavericks.
All things come around.
When snowboarding was in its infancy in the 70s, IIRC, Sims had a model called a Snurfer. Not much later, Burton made a novelty into an actual sport, by including “power cords”, whereby you could help control the front with a leash. This was before fixed bindings. Snowboarding was still not allowed on any resort slope or ski lift until bindings were standard in the mid 80s.
I could totally see wave skiing becoming a thing. Because 2020.
Wow. I grew up surfing along that coast, mostly near Santa Cruz though. The Mavericks were considered unrideable at the time. The north side seemed more consistent watching from shore, but those behemoths on the south side are amazing. Thanks for posting.
Maverick? Like one of these?
