Just curious, how do you know very few here know the facts about booking gigs.

The last gig I played was with The Dick Ramada Calvalcade Of Stars, three bands and a comedian.
We all used the same back line of equipment(Dick Ramada's), wait time between the bands was never more than 10 minutes, most times less.
Where did I say very few people here know the facts about booking gigs? They don’t know the facts about THIS gig.

As far as 10 minutes between bands, I’d have to see that to believe it. That might be how you remember it, but IF it happened, no one that’s ever done a multi band gig would say it’s the norm.

I dont know... but I would go on first.
At the end of my set I would smash a cheap guitar. Then I would go crazy, so much so that my band would have to restrain me and carry me off the stage.

Once off the stage, I would tell the other band "They're all yours"

OK, that's on me about THIS gig.

Sure the 10 minutes is not the norm. Same amps, same drums mics monitors etc.. make it a lot easier. Plus being prepared.

The thread title reminds me of what I have read about when Roy Orbison toured Britain in 1963. The opening act was The Beatles. They wound up topping the bill before the tour was over. In 1964, the Beatles became world-famous.

I might have posted about this the other day.
