The Midwest doesn't have ocean fronts, mountains, or even tall skylines, but we still get some nice sunsets. Just kicking back on the deck and watching the day pass by with a cold drink. No sounds of traffic, no shootings, and no loud neighbors tonight. Just some relaxation.

We always say that the Midwest isn't for everyone, some people would go crazy just listening to the wind instead of their city sounds, but it works for me.

Yep. I do kinda miss the Great Plains sunsets. With mountains to the west of me, it’s nice, but it’s not the same. Sunrises over the ocean are pretty awesome, though.

Last month right on the back end of a thunderstorm the sun broke under the mammatus clouds at the horizon and it lit up these puffy weirdos wonderfully. From my driveway in Austin.

Smoke from the fires in Alberta and Nova Scotia have been in our air off and on for a month or so no, producing haze and great sunsets. But I hope CA can get the fires under control soon. Last nite it was very still and as I was driving around listening for Whip-poor-wills, I could occasionally smell the smoke from the NS fires.

Sorry, I have no visual evidence...
