How did this go? I really like to play it but in the record there's like 7 guitars. :)

Ha! I'm just the Tele guy~our WL had several other new songs
he wanted to try out. Perhaps we'll do it some day...

Yeah a lot of modern worship songs have so many guitars; I try to find a few riffs that define the song. I'll add fills, and perhaps accent particular chords here and there. I try to give the vocals plenty of room. Our violinist just plays straight melody, so I'll play unison with her or do a harmony line.
They pretty much give me free reign to come up with my parts~
    which is nice:)

Well it's summer, and our WL is away this week. Got some good
songs picked out for me, so should be fun! I'll get there a bit early
and swap out my Tele and Champ 12 for my 2x10 and big guitar.
That'll give me a cleaner/fuller sound for chopping all the chord changes.

    I've Been Redeemed
Our God Our Help In Ages Past
How Great Is Our God/How Great Thou Art
    Great Is Thy Faithfulness

We played a new song last Sunday~
What A Beautiful Name by Rend Collective
    A powerful song.

This week we're doing another new one~
Come Ye Souls By Sin Afflicted,
I think it's an old hymn with new melody by Kevin Twit.

Tell me more about the prelude. Is that you playing solo at the beginning of the set?

I've been thinking of pitching that to my WL so that people get in earlier. How did it go?

It was before the service... Just me playing and singing. It's always worked well - just start playing and people know it's time to get a seat...

Last Sunday - "stripped down" service as many of our members were away on a weekend-long mission trip.
Only 2 people out front - me singing & playing electric and keyboard player
Went really, really well - got a lot of positive feedback from attendees afterwards .
Made me think that perhaps sometimes we collectively try to do too much musically at our church ("less is more" ??)

    Boldly I Approach

    Here I am to Worship

    How Great is our God

    The Lost Are Found

    Mighty to Save

    Heart of Worship

    10,000 Reasons

    Saviour King

    Something Beautiful
