Dressing up my Bullet - its a 2 tone sunburst and I want something other than white for the pickguard. I've come up with a few ideas and looking for some objective opinions!

Neck pickup adjustment holes - its not vintage but it sure is easier with them and if you screw into the body you effectively negate the shielding paint which does a darn good job of keeping the noise down. I'm thinking yes.

Pickguard shapes - the old school Chandler guard that looks like a thinline but lines up for a regular tele OR this funky one I saw online OR the hybrid conversion shape OR regular.

Pickguard colors - tortoise or black - 1 ply or 3 ply

Nice...I’d go with hybrid conversion 4-ply tort for a sunburst Tele..

What's on there now? I'll trade you my black one from my BSB. LOL.

Those ones you posted are all nice. They would leave a hole exposed eh? Not that that's a big deal. But I guess you would have to drill more holes too eh?

I like how the thinline one looks on a non thinline body.

@FortyEight it came with a white one - I just put a 3 ply black on on there for now - still figuring it out! I like the thinline style as well -

I'm interested in giving mine a different look too, but not sure what yet. It's just a BSB with the shiny black pickguard.

@FortyEight BSB might not be any easier than sunburst to dress up!

Mine's not too "blonde" either. It's more like butterscotch puke orange. blaaaaaaaa I want to give it a good sanding. I may still do that eventually.

Don, just be on the lookout, as the location and size of the control plate varies from this product or source, to that one. Not all "Fender" plates are the same and normally the "Squier" plates are different still and they vary, contractor to contractor.

And the reference points on bridges, neck pickups, all sorts of things can be 1/32nds inches off and it could be a real bad headache.

@boris bubbanov I did find that the Bullet pickguards are a dead ringer for USA Pickguards. The $10 ones on Amazon from Musiclilly are a perfect fit.

    .

Find a clear plastic pickguard and slide different patterned wallpaper or cloth behind it.
Change out the look whenever you find something fun.
