Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing well. Has anyone tried the SME pickups? They're made in Austin and reasonably priced. The sound clips that they post are quite "polished". They're definitely not a raw recording that's straight through the amp. I've been considering some, but am hesitant. What are your thoughts?

I bought a set a few years ago, but have yet to install them. Reasonable base price and they were on sale - a "60's" tele set. Look well made, bridge pickup has a plain metal plate and is lightly potted.

I move at the speed of glaciers, so no report, sorry. Just got the unfinished body for my assembly project. Might have something in 6 months or so.

Cool! I'll be anxious to hear a report! Of all places, I knew someone here would at least have a set.

Never heard of them but will check out since I prefer to help out local businesses first. I imagine fulfillment times are long with any Austin business right now as their local government is at the extreme of covid19 precautions. Everywhere else in TX is open for biz but when I drive into Austin it was like a scene from walking dead. A few homeless stumbling around but the coffee shops, bars, eateries, shops were all closed down or were doing take out only. Sad really, especially for small biz like this pickup builder and some of the guitar builders/luthiers in the area like Austin Music Exchange. Anyhow, I'll see if I can send some biz their way regardless of wait times.

Edited... darn, just saw no P90'S on their site. Only thing I'm in the market for right now..
