Different plectrum materials yields different tones... Rosewood pins should warm the tone... Softer tones than the original plastic ones, IMHO.

I like brass, but if you want a major change in tone, try different strings. Strings will influence sound way more than endpins will..

Since I like the strings I use, I want to try different pins first. That's why I posted a pin question rather than a string question.

    Apologies if I'm repeating myself.

Absolutely. I like the nickel finger picks I use. I have some brass ones, too, but I don't like them as much. Uncomfortable, awkward, and the sound is not to die for.

I don't like plastic finger picks, either, but now that you've reminded me, I might try them again if I get desperate enough.

    Thanks!

Yep! And how hard you hit the strings. And which frets you're using. And string tightness. And tuning. And moisture content. And the room's dimensions. And wall composition. And whether your mittens are wool or acrylic. And whether the moon is over Miami and the swallows have come back to Capistrano. And knots per hour. And wind speed, altitude, barometric pressure, and square foot pounds of torque per metric long ton. . . .

Just put on the new pins. Sounds good in the house. I have a gig tomorrow. Stay tuned . . . .
